How do I register?

You sign up when you first buy a ticket, place a bid or make donation, or you can click on Sign Up. You will be asked to enter your email and mobile so that we can contact you with further event updates or if you win an auction item.

Can I edit my profile?

Yes, you can change any of your contact details at any point. Simply click on Your Account and you can then edit your details as well as see all your transactions / activity.


How do I make a bid?

Click on Auction Items, select the item you want to bid on and click PLACE BID. This will take you into that particular item for you to see more information. Enter your desired bid amount and click PLACE BID. If you are not signed in the you will be asked to do so. Credit card information may be required before placing your first bid in order to pre-authorise your payment information.

How do I know if I have been outbid?

Click on Your Account and then you will see which items you have bid on as well as the status of your bid. You will also be sent a text message and email should another guest outbid you.

What do I do if I want to retract a bid?

Please contact the organiser through the Contact Us page.

When does the auction close?

The auction closes at 8pm on Thursday, May 12th 2022

How do I know if I won an item?

When the auction closes, your credit card will automatically be charged only if you have won an item and/or made a donation. You will then be sent a text and email notification with a confirmation of your payment and item collection information.

You will also receive an email asking you to cover the cost of postage and packing with the costs outlined below. If you haven't paid within seven days of the auction closes we will offer the prize to the next highest bidder - if you are unable to make payment within this time scale please let us know as soon as possible so we can work around it.

Some items have reserve prices on at the request of the donor.

Do the items have provenance?

All items have been donated to Teenage Cancer Trust in order to raise valuable funds. All physical items will be posted with a Certificate of Authenticity and please remember many of these items have been preowned so may be in a loved condition.

When will items be sent out?

Once payment has been received Teenage Cancer Trust will send out items within 28 days (although we will try and get them out much quicker!)

Where possible items will be sent out first class Royal Mail post and charged at the following rates:

Small parcels weighing up to 1kg (items valued at <£50) £5

Small parcels weighing up to 1kg (items valued at <£1000) £10

Medium parcels weighing up to 1kg (items valued at <£50) £8

Medium parcels weighing up to 1kg (items valued at <£1000) £13

Large and heavy items will be arranged between Teenage Cancer Trust and the winner, as will International delivery.


How do I enter the prize draw?

Click on the Prize Draw menu option. Select the number of tickets you wish to purchase using the + and – icons. You will need to be signed in to process your transaction and will be asked for payment information to confirm your order. there are five prizes available through the draw - all open under the price of one ticket.

How do I know if I have won or lost?

When the draw is made using a system generated random number generator you will be sent a notification by email and text to let you know if you have a winning ticket or not.

What are the full terms and conditions of the Prize Draw?

These terms and conditions are the competition rules (the “Rules”) and apply to the prize draw competition as advertised by Emma and Teenage Cancer Trust. By entering the Promotion, entrants agree to be bound by the Rules.

Entry Details

1. Entrants must be GB residents and must be aged 18 and over.

2. By entering the Promotion, entrants are deemed to have read, accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions and any other requirements.

3. The entry period starts on April 29th 2022 and closes 8.00pm on May 12th 2022.

4. No responsibility can be accepted by Emma or Teenage Cancer Trust for any incomplete or illegible entries or any entries not received or corrupted during transmission, for whatever reason.

5. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Teenage Cancer Trust does not accept any liability for any losses or damage whatsoever arising out of this Promotion.  However, nothing in these terms and conditions shall operate to exclude Teenage Cancer Trust liability for death, personal injury (as a result of its negligence), fraud or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Winner contact and Prize Fulfilment

6. The five prize winner will receive a prize consisting of one of the following five prizes: 1. Signed photo of Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey; 1. Signed Stereophonics T-shirt; 1 Ed Sheeran plectrum; 1 Guitar Man tote bag signed by Roger Daltrey; 1 Teenage Cancer Trust goodie bag. This will be delivered to the winner’s address provided upon confirmation of winning the competition.

7. There are no cash alternatives to the prize and the prize cannot be sold, exchanged, transferred or bartered. 

8. The winners will be drawn at random under independent supervision within 48 hours of the closing date and notified by email within 24 hours of the draw being made. In the event that contact cannot be made within a further 24 hours, Teenage Cancer Trust reserves the right to withdraw prize entitlement and award the prize to a reserve drawn at the same time as the original. 

9. The judges’ decision is final in every situation and no correspondence will be entered into. 

10. In order to claim a prize, entrants may be required to provide official proof of age and/or residency sent via email. If entrants are asked to provide this documentation they must do so within 24 hours. Teenage Cancer Trust reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify from further participation in the promotion any individual found to be tampering with the operation of the promotion or to be acting in any manner deemed to be in violation of these terms and conditions.

11. Teenage Cancer Trust will not deliver prizes to addresses outside of the specified geographical coverage stated above in term 1.

12. Teenage Cancer Trust may refuse to allocate a prize to a winner at its sole discretion to anyone acting in any manner deemed to be in violation of these terms and conditions. Teenage Cancer Trust shall have no liability for any loss of any kind incurred by the winner. 

13. Any cost incurred in entering shall be the sole responsibility of the entrant.

14. Teenage Cancer Trust reserves the right to substitute a prize if this is necessary for reasons beyond its control. 

Data Protection

15. Personal data will be taken where necessary from all entries received where those details are reasonably necessary for the administration of the competition. Any personal data of entrants will be processed in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation.  


16. This promotion may be cancelled or amended at any time by Teenage Cancer Trust without prior notice.

17. The promoter is Teenage Cancer Trust, 93 Newman Street, London, W1T 3EZ and the draw is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and the Courts of England and Wales shall have sole jurisdiction over any dispute. 

18. Teenage Cancer Trust is the beneficiary charity. Registered Charity 1062559 (England & Wales); SC039757 (Scotland) with a registered office at 93 Newman St, London, W1T 3EZ;

19. Prize winners consent to their names and counties being made available by Teenage Cancer Trust. For names and counties of prize winners please send an SAE to Star Boot Sale, Teenage Cancer Trust, 93 Newman Street, London, W1T 3EZ

Can I enter the Prize Draw through a no purchase entry?

You can enter with no purchase necessary, via postal entry. To enter this way, please send your entry to Freepost RRHG-UZRK-XLE, 93 Newman Street, London, W1T 3EZ with Star Boot Sale flagged on your entry along with your full name, email address, contact mobile number, country of residence and date of birth. Postal entries must be received before 11.59pm on May 11th.

When does the prize draw close?

The prize draw closes for postal entries at 11.59pm on Wednesday, May 11th 2022 and at 8pm on Thursday, May 12th 2022 for online entries.


How do I make a donation?

Click on Donate, select your desired option (if applicable), enter the amount you want to donate and click Next. You will need to be signed in to process your donation. You will be sent a confirmation email to confirm your donation and the transaction will also appear within Your Account too.
